Guests can step straight onto the Trans Pennine Trail from the park, making it easy to explore the surrounding countryside on foot or by bike. Our park is home to mature tree lines, established hedgerows, wildflower planting and carefully managed green spaces that provide valuable habitats for wildlife. Bird and bat boxes have been installed across the park, while our landscaping is designed to encourage pollinators and support local biodiversity throughout the seasons.
By maintaining and enhancing these natural spaces, we’re helping ensure the park remains a peaceful haven for both wildlife and our guests.
We’re continually investing in practical ways to reduce our environmental footprint across the park.
Our lodges feature energy-efficient appliances, smart heating controls and LED lighting, while motion-sensor lighting helps minimise unnecessary energy use in communal areas. Electric vehicle charging points are also available, making it easier for guests to travel more sustainably.
Water-saving measures, including low-flow showers, efficient taps and dual-flush toilets, help reduce water consumption, while insulated hot tub covers minimise heat loss and improve energy efficiency without compromising guest comfort.
As technology develops, we’ll continue to explore new opportunities to improve the sustainability of our operations.
Reducing waste is an important part of how we operate.
Recycling facilities are available throughout the park for guests, while behind the scenes we recycle operational waste wherever possible, compost green waste generated through grounds maintenance and responsibly recycle furniture, mattresses and other materials when they reach the end of their life.
We’ve also taken steps to reduce single-use plastics across the business and use refillable cleaning products wherever practical, helping to minimise unnecessary waste without compromising cleanliness or quality.

Wherever possible, we choose to work with Yorkshire suppliers, local food producers, independent contractors, tradespeople and landscapers. Supporting local businesses not only strengthens our local economy but also reduces unnecessary transport and helps maintain the character of our region.
