“We stayed in one of the lodges for a weekend and were instantly taken by how lovely the site is. We feel part of a bigger family, not a business, it’s been such a pleasant experience. It’s about having a nice bolthole in Yorkshire because we like this part of the world. But we couldn’t afford to do it without being able to earn a rental return. As lovely as it would be to have it to ourselves, that would be an extravagance we couldn’t justify. Because it’s so beautifully managed it doesn’t feel like it’s being rented out, when we come in, it’s just as we left it and feels lovely.”
